So, John, just take the poems you were going to

hand in last Tuesday and add to them, or revise

them a little. Poems will be passed around on the

21st. In the meantime, memorize Clayton's

book. And his poem "Monster." What happened

from point A (first poem in Watermark) to point

Z (end of "Monster"). We'll look at manuscripts

with more rigor/purpose. Remember, bring (typed)

2 questions for Clayton. The lit mag review is

due on Feb 21, fyi. Which poem is the Ashbery

or if that's already known what can we learn from

the similarities/differences between all our

"imitations" . . .
