STUFF
It's late in the year, yes? And we'll do what we
do, but please bring the books--Clayton's, Herb
Scott's, Peterson's, The Shade anthology, if they're
around. We didn't have the time I thought we'd have,
which is okay--we wrote some dynamite poetry--
but each book contains poetry that's instructive
and vital. I've got a stack of 38 books beside my
bed. In a few days I'll carry them back to various
shelves, then I'll start over. Within a week or two
I'll have a pile of books to replace on the shelves
all over again. Reading, writing, you can't have
without the other.
So, for instance, how does Wallace Stevens' saying
"Poetry helps us live our lives" resonate with
Clayton's "fiddler's hearth - summer, 2009" -- on a
personal level (for the speaker / poet) and for us
all?
And here's a review of Allan Peterson's poetry.
There's the stuff about submitting poems to journals,
a few more mss. to judge (I need this--it is extremely
helpful as well as educational).
And other stuff. Stuff stuff.
Spring is in the air . . .
