OH ON Got your attention. Here are some things: 1. Get the write-up on the chapbook in, pronto. 2. EDIT the groups of poems handed in--Danny's, Hannah's, etc 3. Read Clayton's chapbook and bring to class three possible questions about poetry or publishing, etc. Bring TWO copies and hand one copy in to me. It counts. This will take place on April 19th. 4. ALSO on April 19th, bring the five poems you will be sending in to the literary magazine(s) of your choice. Staple them in the upper left hand corner, and print on the top of the front page the magazine(s) you've decided to send to. Feel free to simultaneously submit. Also attach your accompanying letter. I'll go over the dos and don'ts of this letter on Tuesday (next week). I myself will select poems from these entries and post them in a section on our blog (probably during exam week). 5. On April 26 your final (as final as you can make it) version of your collection of poems is due--16 pages minimum, 28 pages maximum. Give the whole thing a title, and include acknowledgments if you have any. Again, look at published chapbooks to see where things appear, how things are done. Write a table of contents for the book, and use a cover sheet with the title of the book and your name. Paginate this collection (on the computer). In other words, use the style you've gotten so used to looking at manuscripts. I'll say more about this on Tuesday (next week). 6. on May 3 your anthology is due, either hard copy or as a blog. See post below for details. You will be using the linked online magazines, plus there are some further choices/parts of the project.
