ADAPTING
So, I've been thinking about schedules; how rigid they some-
times are. It seems the two choices are "clarity" or "flexibility."
I prefer flexibility, of course. Which brings me to this:
You'll notice on the sheet I handed out, and other places, the
date to hand in your 10 - 13 pages of poems is Feb. 19. I want
to change that. That is, I want to give various people various
due dates in order that everyone have a good chunk of time
for working on their poems after they've been presented in
class. So the folks whose poems we did in class on Tuesday,
Jan. 29, (last Tuesday) will still hand in their 10 - 13 pp. of
poems on Feb. 19.
I'll explain, I'll explain, when we meet on Tuesday.
But abide by this list:
The following will hand in their next batch of poems on
FEB 19:
Erin Britt
Rebecca Evans
Ryan Gruenwald
MacKenzie Jarvis
Anne Lindgren
The following will hand in the next batch of poems on
FEB 26:
Sarah Barrett
Kristy Kettlehut
Kyle Lubelski
Diane Passero
The following will hand in the next batch of poems on
MARCH 5:
Krista Cox
Joe Eggleston
Lisa Eizenga
Kevin Elias
Lori Hicks
Nicholas Wort
I'll explain why this is necessary next time. I want to spend
part of each class doing other things, for one thing, so I need
to figure out a way to split the time up so that's possible.
This means, of course, that we will read and talk about poems
written by Sarah, Kristy, Kyle, and Diane, this week (after our
"interview" with Charmi). So read those batches of poems
(thrice).
Also, send in your Ashbery poems by 2 pm Feb. 5. I will print
them out, hand them out as a packet, and we'll proceed from
there.
Stick with me. I always want to do so much. It can make it
complicated but it's worth it. More on all this Tuesday . . .
