BATES MOTEL

Ok, HOLD EVERYTHING! as they say. But really,
just proceed, but in proceeding simply post your
Ruefle Imitation poem on your blog if you have not . . .

Next, assemble your 8 - 12 poem packet. Make sure to
CAREFULLY arrange the poems in the order you
think best represents them, allows them to flow, or simply
highlights the features of each particular poem best.

A helpful hint: to make them look nice and read nice
single space your poems.

Now, tomorrow *Wed. 2/19, get to class on time. We'll
take care of business--hand things out etc.--then head
next door to join Kelcey's class and listen to Joseph Bates
talk about fiction writing and literary publishing.

Please bring a question about writing or publishing. We
want to make our presence known. This is the only reading
of the term (other than the awards reading) so it's good it
falls on Feb 18. It's part of "publishing" and I'll talk about
this--the book tour, the promotion: review copies, inter-
views, readings etc.

Put a placeholder in our reading progress. Read the rest of
Ruefle, and I still want to spend at least a little time in class
next week talking about her poems, and about the poems
you were assigned to report on (those who didn't talk
about their assigned poems LAST Wednesday). But we
will quickly move on to Samyn. Read the first ten or
so poems in Samyn's book.

See you tomorrow. Don't get stuck in a puddle of snowmelt!
