SOME STUFF FOR APRIL 2


So, please read Chad's manuscript thoroughly. Edit it
and suggest an order for the poems IF the present one
seems at all flawed. A requirement here is to choose,
and identify, your top three favorite poems in the manu-
script. Same stuff otherwise. So we'll talk about
it first thing on Wednesday, April 2. See readings listed
below. We'll conclude Schomburg. But I want each of
you to choose a favorite Foust poem, and be prepared
to say why you dig it. These are difficult poems, it seems
at first, but not so much really. His poems are ABOUT
the difficulties of communication. Interesting to note
that the first three poems are titled after Van Halen
songs . . . Type your in-class poems up, and write the
third one, and bring all three to class on April 2, either
by handing a single copy of each to me or by adding
them (one, two, or all) to your manuscript, in which
case we will all receive a copy of the new poems . . .
