POST OF EVENING JAN. 17, 2012
Here is the link to Berryman reading one of his Dream Songs.
Order, by name:
Rachel B.
Rachel C.
Jessica Deckard
Jordan (or "International Conspiracy"?)
Jeff
Samantha
John ("Life Boats for Paper Dolls")
Kyle
Karie ("Parking Lot of Dreams")
Joshua
Jenny ("The Condition") only with a line through it
this is alphabetical.
We will workshop first thing, look at the poems
listed below next, then workshop some more.
What is the poet trying to do? Is it a more narrative
based poem? Is it narrative via collaging techniques?
Is it scrapping thoghtful contrivance for a ghostly
truthful feeling free association? How should the poet
proceed? More of the same? Should he/she vary
the content while remaining stylistically consistent
or should he/she do it the other way around? Is the tile
(or lack) telling? Who is speaking? What is the tone
and can we feel this tone as something that continues
(what will have to happen?). More white space? Less?
