(At the end of this post is some info about the cover
art for Cruz's book . . .)
And here is a pretty recent interview.
Have you read the texts assigned? What is Keranen
doing in her poems? And Cruz. Her work emerges as
a sort of portrait, takes the temperature of the culture,
blends ideas about American consumerism with
an emerging "self."
I will bring contest manuscripts into class, so be ready
to make comments on those. It's actually just a lot
of fun. Pretty interesting . . . We'll spend some time on
that . . .
Bring your poems. Yes, make copies. As I said,
to minimize cost feel free to put more than one poem
per page.
I haven't checked email (I will come morning) but
keep in mind your blog. You need to have one. I'll
check email in the morning.
If my house doesn't crack in half from the cold.
Oh, btw., here is the link to the artist who did the cover
art for Cruz's book. Do you think it's a good marriage
between Cruz's text and the cover art? The art was
cropped from one of Huey's large paintings (and you
can find it if you look).
