MAKE SURE TO LOOK AT ALL THE POSTS

I mean, I'll sometimes post many times a week, some of
them important, some just to point out what could be of'
interest. But in order to get the "full effect" of things read
down through many posts, where information you need
could be located. I began posting links to blogs. Three
below. Get your blog up and running!

I want to remind everyone to, indeed, read Cruz's
book, at least the first 34 pages, please.

Bring a copy of one poem today, with copies for all (so,
that would be 16 including yourself). It can be new or
it can be an already existing poem. I think the idea here
is to bring a poem that you feel could be representative
of the poems that will appear in your forthcoming
chapbook manuscript. For those of us hearing and reading
the poem, does the poem seem like a good beginning for
a chapbook? I'll be asking questions of the author (this is
quite a bit different than a normal workshop situation).
Are the qualities in the poem, it's form, its tone, its
subject matter, going to be representative in some way of
the rest of your poems? Is the poem accessible or cryptic,
ambiguous, and if the latter, does the language make a
sort of music we'd like to hear (as readers / listeners) over
and over again?

In other words, we'll identify what appear to be the poet's
formal identity, and persona, in the poem. You can decide
if you want this poem, then, to be the type of poem you
want in the book.
