SOME DEADLINES

So some of what's below I have yet to assign. I mean,
I need to hand out the Ashbery poem instructions,
for instance. By the way. Anne handed in her "review"
of The Laurel Review early (it's very good) and in it she
named a number of her favorite poets (Mathias and
Vogelsang, and seven others make her list) in the issue.
It's not required, but if you can name three or four or five
poems that really speak to you, I'd like to see what
they are, compare and contrast, see what we've got
in this class, who likes what etc. Indulge me. Good class
tonight. Much good writing . . .

1. Ashbery Imitation poem assignment. Email the poem by
Jan. 29 (by 2 pm). Davdlee@iusb.edu.

2. Remember write up on  the literary magazine
I handed around is due on Jan. 29.

3. When did I say have some poems chosen from the
sets I handed out? Here’s what I want you to
do. Rank them. Number 1 being the best. Literally put
them in an order, from best (top sheet) to worst (last sheet), t
hat shows which poem you like best, then second best, etc.,
and then hand these “assembled” packets in on Jan. 30.

4. Remember, 4 – 6 poems, with copies for all on Jan. 22 (
next time). You can have more than one poem on a page,
but make it all very readable. In your final book you will use
one poem per page.

5. Read pp. 7 - 14 in The Afterlife is a Dry County by Jan. 22.

6. Read pp. 35 - 51 in The Glimmering Room by Jan. 22.
